Here is a little more about ABCmouse
ABCmouse.com is a global education initiative of Age of Learning, Inc. Our goal is to help children build a strong foundation for future academic success by providing a comprehensive and engaging online curriculum to greatly assist early learners to succeed in pre-k, kindergarten, and early elementary school programs.
There are 45 courses that range in difficulty from beginner to advanced as well as eight fun games to play. This is enough content for typists of all ages to polish their current skills, and if you run out of lessons and feel like you need more instruction, you can invest in another software title without feeling like you wasted your hard-earned money on Typing.com’s instruction.
This site has separate logins for teachers and students, and teachers can assign students goals and track their progress. However, if you just need to take a typing test or want to play some fun typing games, you don’t even need to create a login. All the lessons, games and tests are available on the website’s homepage free of charge. The advantage of creating a login is you can track your performance and skill development.
Of the 45 total courses, 14 are meant for beginners. There are anywhere from 10 to 20 short lessons in each course, and each lesson takes less than a minute to complete. Because of the limited amount of material, we do not suggest this software if you are an intermediate to advanced typist looking to grow your skill set.
Typing.com is not only free to use for typing students, but teachers can also take advantage of its tools free of charge. They can use Typing.com’s Teacher Portal to track students’ progress in real time, and they can issue grades directly from the online application. The reporting tools give educators enough information to assign the lessons each student needs to improve their typing skills. Teachers can also use logins from educational software like Clever and Edmodo to sync class rosters and district reporting information with Typing.com.
